QUETTA: Security forces on Friday arrested 27 militants, including Afghans, during a combing operation in the Kanak area of Balochistan’s Mastung district.
A heavy contingent of security forces and intelligence officials launched operation at 4:00am in Kanak area of Mastung on a tip-off regarding presence of terrorists involved in Quetta civil hospital attack.
At least 27 suspects were rounded up during the operation and a large number of weapons were recovered from their possession.
The security official said all arrested militants belonged to a banned organisation and were also involved in a series of bombings and targeted killings in the province.
Security forces have been conducting raids in various parts of Balochistan as part of ongoing combing operations in the aftermath of the deadly bombing.
