ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Friday imposed 5% advance tax on different functions including wedding function events, seminars, workshops, exhibitions, concerts,parties and other gatherings at a hotel or any other commercial places, Dunya TV reported.
According to a notification issued by the FBR, “Every prescribed person shall collect advance tax at the rate of five percent on the total amount of the bill from a person arranging or holding a function in a marriage hall, marquee, hotel, restaurant, commercial lawn, club, a community place or any other place used for such purpose”.
“Where the food, service or any other facility is provided by any other party, the prescribed person shall also collect advance tax on the payment for such food, service or facility at the rate of five percent from the person arranging or holding the function”, it added.
