PM Nawaz asks President Mamnoon to dismiss mercy pleas of APS attackers

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday recommended President Mamnoon Hussain to dismiss the mercy pleas of four culprits involved in last year’s Army Public School attack that killed more than 140 children.

All four culprits were awarded death sentences by a military trial court however they filed mercy appeals with President Office.

According to a summary the prime minister has said that APS attack was an act of terrorism and those responsible for this must not be spared.

“Pakistan has changed after deadly militant attack and resolved to curb any type of terrorism,” Nawaz Sharif maintained.

Last year on December 16 a group of terrorists attacked Army Public School in Peshawar and killed as many as 151 people including children. As a result an intensive operation was conducted by Pakistan army’s Special Services Group (SSG) to clear the school killing all seven attackers.

Main preparators of APS attack are already killed by Pakistan army during an aerial offence in tribal region of the country, according army spokesperson.
