GUJRANWALA – In another vindication of nepotism under the nose of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the deputy commissioner of Punjab’s city Gujranwala was transferred on the directives of Bushra Maneka.
According to a report by Channel 24, Shoaib Tariq was abruptly transferred on Friday and was asked to leave the charge in a surprise shuffle, however, Bushra Maneka played a pivotal role in the matter.
The report outlines that Tariq had sent a notice of demolition of a petrol pump tucked on GT Road during the anti-encroachment drive.
The fuel station is owned by an influential politician who reached out to the first lady and got the civil servant transferred.
Shoaib Tariq initially resisted to leave the charge, however, shocking revelations suggest that Bushara Maneka was approached by the daughter-in-law of Chaudhry Iqbal following which the officer was transferred.
The Deputy Commissioner was asked to report to the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) after the intervention.
Reportedly, Farah – who happens to be the daughter-in-law of Ch Iqbal Gujjar – approached Bushra Maneka and got the anti-encroachment drive suspended as well.
Chaudhry Iqbal Gujjar is a member of the Punjab assembly and had lost the elections for assembly speakership against Ch Pervaiz Elahi.
Farah is close to Bushra Maneka and the marriage ceremony of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan and Bushra took place at her residence.
Moreover, she was also alleged to have played a role in the abrupt transfer of former DPO Pakpattan, Rizwan Gondal.
When Rizwan Gondal was asked to apologize to Khawar Maneka for stopping him at a checkpoint, Ahsan Jameel Gujjar (son of Iqbal Gujjar) grilled the policeman at the chief minister house.
Ahsan Jameel Gujjar also appeared before the Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and claimed that he was like a guardian to the children of Bushra Maneka.

Following a thorough probe by the apex court, Gujjre had submitted unconditional apology before the Chief Justice.
Despite all claims made by PTI about upholding merit and transparency in statecraft, it appears that the rules are still being flouted and decisions are being taken at the whims and caprices of bigwigs, including Bushra Maneka.
