Zulfiqar Mirza announces formation of new party

KARACHI (Online) – Former Sindh home minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza has announced his decision to form a new political party, local media reported on Monday.

The former Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader, who developed differences with its co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari, has been quite vocal against some of the party’s policies and leaders over the past few months.

According to the press statement, Mirza has sought the support of well-wishers and friends to form the party and put an end to corruption in Sindh.

The party will garner support in all provinces of Pakistan, announced Mirza, adding that it will function on the principles of Benazir Bhutto and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

The former PPP leader said that he had pinned his hopes on Bilawal Bhutto Zardari that the latter would free the party from corrupt elements.
