Mengal links Sharif’s Balochistan visit to Senate polls

QUETTA (Web Desk) – Balochistan National Party-Mengal chief Akhtar Mengal said on Friday the federal government was not serious about taking care of the most pressing issues facing Balochistan, branding Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s visit to the province as a catwalk.

Drawing a connection between Sharif’s visit and Senate polls, Mengal, while talking to a group of reporters outside the provincial election commission office, made it clear that the Balochs could not be sold to anyone during the elections.

“My party is in politics just for the sake of democracy but still there’s no democracy in our province,” he asserted, complaining that the political leadership never spoke out for the rights of the Balochs.

Mengal advised the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz to take other parties in the coalition on board before trying to woo the angry Baloch leaders.
