Karachi: Police recovers four tortured bodies as violence reemerges

KARACHI – Four dead bodies were found near Steel Town in Karachi on Friday, suggesting a reemergence of violence in the metropolis.

According to SSP Malir Rao Anwar, the deceased were blindfolded which hinted at the possibility of murder at a different spot before being thrown in an empty plot.

‘The bodies bore torture marks’ Rao Anwar added.

The city of lights has seen a surge in criminal activities over the past months, with burgeoning incidents of street crimes such as mobile snatching and bank heists.

On Thursday, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah extended special powers of Rangers for another 90 days to give a free hand to law enforcement agencies for detention.
