South Waziristan- As South Waziristan has still got no mobile network making it difficult for the people to communicate quickly with their loved one’s. A woman’s only Pco is being set up in Makin which is run by a female so the wives can talk to their husbands who are away from home for work purposes. It is set near a residential area so the accessibility is easier.
The Pco is set with a PTCL connection which will allow the females to make not only national but also international calls. The Pco is made by keeping the culture and tradition of the society in mind giving the females a covered place with some chairs and a landline. The pardah of females remain intact while they talk to their families and loved ones.
The Pco will charge nominal fees for calls and a female operator is being designated so she not only makes the experience of females better and easy but it is an opportunity for her to earn a few bucks.
