Senate unanimously passes motion on panama leaks

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) The Senate on Friday has unanimously passed the resolution tabled by parliamentary committee regarding Panama Leaks, while Chairman Senate has regretted to chair the session.

As per details, Chairman Senate while talking about the motion regarding formation of parliamentary committee on Panama leaks said that Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs did not include the motion in Senate agenda about constitution of parliamentary committee to set the Terms of References (ToRs) for the probe of Panama Leaks, however, no consultation was made with Senate and Chairman Senate in this regard.

He added that I do not want to become the hurdle in the way of the important motion tabled for the elimination of corruption.

“The Senate was not consulted in this regard by the National Assembly and just formally informed, so in this connection it is not possible for me to chair the session”, the Chairman Senate added.

Later, the session of the upper house of the parliament was chaired by Senator Javed Abbasi. On this occasion, Federal law Minister Zahid Hamid has moved a resolution about Panama Leaks which was unanimously passed by the house.
