LAHORE (Staff Report) – Just two days after his “across the board accountability for corruption,” remarks Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Thursday ordered to dismiss as many as eleven army officers from military service over corruption charges.
Raheel Sharif’s unprecedented move was warmly welcomed by media commentators, analysts and observers. Thousands of twitter users also took expressed their gratitude using hashtag #ThankYouRaheelSharif.

As per information available with Daily Pakistan Global, the dismissed officers included one Lt-General, one Major-General, five Brigadiers, three Colonels and one Major.
The dismissed officers were serving in Frontier Constabulary in Balochistan, while Lt-General Ubaidulla Khatak, who was serving as Inspector General FC, also among the condemned officials.
All of the dismissed officers have been deprived of their service benefits and asked to return the embezzled money. All perks and privileges are withdrawn.
The development comes just days after the army chief said “across the board accountability is necessary for the solidarity, integrity and prosperity of Pakistan”. He had also vowed to support every move to initiate a process of accountability in Pakistan.
