Ayesha Omar opens up about sexual harassment in our industry

In the light of recent events where Meesha Shafi is being bashed for speaking up against sexual harassment, Ayesha Omar steps forward and opens up about sexual harassment in our industry. She explained in an interview how it is disturbing to see so many people bashing Meesha and her character for something which is unacceptable.

Omar talked about how females and as human beings it takes up a lot of courage to talk in a society like ours against issues like sexual harassment which are negated right away without a fair trial. She even cleared the rumors which have that Meesha is doing all of this for publicity but to be honest she is getting all the hate and vulgar comments so how can that be great for her career or even publicity.

Every single day women are being harassed and especially in our industry as like everything else it is also male dominated where it is hard for women to speak up. Omar commented on Ali Zafar’s response saying if someone says something about me I will also deny it as the intentions of people can’t be calculated let’s refrain from bashing people. She added how she would want to be as strong as Meesha for speaking up against such person as it needs a lot of courage and strength.
