PARIS – At least one woman has died after a vehicle rammed into two bus stops in the French port city of Marseille, French media reported.
According to the local media, a driver has been arrested in the scenic Old Port area of France’s second-largest city.
The regional La Provence newspaper and BFM-TV say that at least one woman has died.
Police say it is not clear whether the van was driven deliberately into the shelter in the old port area or whether it was an accident. Police have advised people to avoid the old port area.
The second bus stop was struck at about 10:00 local time (08:00 GMT).
The incident comes just days after back-to-back van attacks in Barcelona and Spanish resort town of Cambrils killed 14 people.
