KARACHI (Staff report) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) former leader Anees Ahmed advocate has announced to join the newly-formed political party of former Karachi mayor Syed Mustafa Kamal.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, Anees advocate formally announced his support to the Kamal’s party. He said that he was mentally prepared to leave MQM at least 3 years ago but Mustafa Kamal’s brave step has given him strength.
MQM chief Altaf Hussain doesn’t deserve to be a leader of ‘Muhajir community’ anymore as he has never thought about his leaders, he added.
Anees, who was associated with MQM for 32 years, was removed from the party’s decision-making body in 2012 over alleged misconduct.
On the other hand, Mustafa Kamal welcomed Anees Advocate to the group.
