Sugar mills owners declare to boycott crushing season

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Sugar mills owners have announced to boycott crushing season, while Sugar Mills Association officials said that no sugar mill to purchase sugarcane, demanding the government to allow export one million tons of sugar and to provide subsidy of 15 thousand rupees per ton to the mills exporting sugar.

Chairman Iskandar Khan chaired Sugar Mills association annual meeting and discussed over issues between government and sugar mills owners. The meeting decided not to purchase sugarcane from farmers during crushing season to be started next month.

Trade Development Authority of Pakistan to pay two billion rupees against sugar, exported three years earlier, while the sugarcane price to be fixed across country equally.
