Soldier martyred, three injured in North Waziristan IED blast

PESHAWAR – A security official died and three others injured when a bomb disposal unit of Pakistan Army was targeted by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in North Waziristan on Sunday.

The incident took place in the Dre Wastay area of Tehsil Datta Khel. Official sources said that the area was sealed off and movement was restricted.

The three injured soldiers were rushed to a hospital in Miranshah.

Two hours later, another IED exploded near a quick response force team in Kam Sarobi area. However, officials maintained there were no casualties and a subsequent search operation was launched in the area.

Earlier this week, a soldier embraced martyrdom while neutralising an improvised explosive device (IED) in the North Waziristan Agency.
