KARACHI (Staff Report) – Shortly after the detention of Dr Farooq Sattar, Amir Khan, Khawaja Izhar ul Hassan and Sajid Ahmed, Rangers on Monday detained MQM senior leader Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain in Karachi.
The TV anchor and member of the party had also condemned the party members’ action earlier on a TV program.
Rangers and police launched a major crackdown on the party after at least one person was killed and several others were injured during violent clashes between protesters and police near Zainab Market.
Several vehicles were also torched by the demonstrators.
