LODHRAN (STaff Report) – A day-long polling process will take place for NA-154 by-election in Lodhran on Wednesday (December 23) where Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Jahangir Tareen and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Siddique Baloch are leading contestants among eighteen others.

The polling will start at 8:00am and continue till 5:00 in the evening without any formal interval.

According to a statement of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) as many as 303 polling stations have been established in the constituency for by-poll.

A public holiday will be observed in NA-154 on December 23 while Ministry for Water and Power has also been requested for zero loadshedding of electricity on the polling day.

More than 425,000 ballot papers have been published for NA-154 by-polls and personnel of Pakistan Army will also be present inside and outside every polling station for peaceful, free, fair and transparent polling process.

The seat went vacant when an election tribunal declared election of Siddique Baloch as null in August earlier this year.

NA-154 is one of the four National Assembly constituencies where PTI Chairman Imran Khan had called for vote audit before launching his long march and 126-day-long dharna against the PML-N government in 2014.
