SHO martyred, two decoits killed in exchange of fire in Jaffarabad

QUETTA – A senior police official was martyred and three others were injured in exchange of fire with  dacoits in Gandakha city, an area of Jaffarabad, Baluchistan.

Two criminals were also killed including the mastermind of the gang,  Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Nasirabad Nazeer Ahmed Kurd confirmed to media on Friday.

Acting on a tip off, a police team led by SHO Gandakha Raheem Bakhsh Marri conducted raid at a place. On seeing the police, the armed men opened fire at the raiding team. As a result, Sub-Inspector Raheem Bakhsh was martyred and three police men sustained serious wounds, the DIG added.

The dead body and the injured were rushed to nearby hospital for medical aid. The killed robber was identified as Zulfiqar alias Zulfi, a proclaimed offender (PO) who was involved in kidnapping for ransom and other notorious crime cases in Baluchistan and Sindh.

Police and law enforcement agencies reached the site and cordoned off the entire area and started search operation to trace out the alleged accused. Further investigations are underway.
