ANKARA (Web Desk) – Turkish military moved in to the Syrian territory to rescue about 40 soldiers surrounded by Islamic State (ISIS) militants for months while protecting the tomb of Shah Suleyman.
It happened for the first time, since civil uprising started in neighboring country, when turkey crossed the border line with Syria to conduct a surgical operation. The operation involved tanks, drones, reconnaissance planes as well as several hundred ground troops.
No clashes took place during the operation, an official statement by Turkish forces said.
One soldier was killed anyhow during the action.
