Saudi Arabia, UAE pledge to donate 100 mln for Ivanka s foundation

JEDDAH – Alongside an arms deal worth $110 billion with Saudi Arabia, Ivanka Trump, daughter of U.S. President Donald Trump also remained successful in reaping benefits of $100 million for her proposed foundation during the visit, international media reported.

During her father’s visit to Saudi Arabia to attend US-Arab Islamic Summit, she proposed Women Entrepreneurs Fund to help the women in Middle East. Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates (UAE) pledged to give combine $100 million.

The fund, which will be administered by World Bank, not Ivanka Trump, will provide financial support to female entrepreneurs in the form of capital and access to the markets.

On Sunday, the first daughter stressed the need for transformation while speaking at women’s economic empowerment roundtable. The meeting was attended by 15 women, most of them Saudi business and government leaders and entrepreneurs.
