Here’s what Daniyal Aziz did to his chewing gum when pointed out about Ramazan

ISLAMABAD – Minister for Privatization Daniyal Aziz flanked former premier Nawaz Sharif as he appeared before the accountability court on Monday, with a gesture that was well noted by the journalists around.

When Danyal entered the premises of the court, he was chewing gum, flouting the norms of the holy month of Ramazan in which Muslim avoid eating anything from dawn to dusk.

The gesture of the minister was noted by a reporter who pointed out that the month of Ramazan was upon us in which Muslims observe fast.

Upon this, the firebrand leader of ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz felt a bit ‘ashamed’, however, swallowed the gum instead of spitting it out.

Aziz’ reflex action, that could pose him a health threat, was well observed by the newsmen in the court, one of whom, Farid Sabri, narrated the story on his Twitter handle.

It bears mentioning that even if one does not fast, owing to medical or other reasons, he is expected to respect the holy month by not consuming anything publicly.
