NEW DELHI – The Indian authorities are reportedly mulling over the arrest of Islamic preacher Zakir Naik through Interpol.
The crack down against Zakir and his foundation IRF is still going on in India with Indian agencies alleging the speaker of promoting terror in the country.
The website of IRF foundation has also been blocked besides conducting raids at its offices across Mumbai. IRF has also been banned by India for five years, last week.
Zakir was trapped in a controversy after the Dhaka cafe attackers confessed to listening his preaches although Zakir himself refuted the allegations regarding spreading hatred.
Currently, Zakir is believed to be in Saudi Arabia but India’s NIA (National Investigation Agency) is deliberating over issuing his non-bailable arrest warrants through Interpol to compel the cleric head back to India for further investigations.
