CCTV footage unfolds murder of model Areeba

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Police on Monday arrested a suspect after the CCTV footage unfolded the mystery shrouding the murder of Abeera Iqbal, a Punjab University student, having a pseudonym Areeba as a rookie model.

The body of Abeera was found in a suitcase at a bus station in Lahore’s Johar Town on January 13. Autopsy reports revealed she was raped before being murdered. She used to live at the varsity hostel.

According to SSP Ayaz Salim, Areeba had gone to meet suspect Tooba, whose original name is Uzma Rao, a day before her ruthless murder. The two girls shared the passion of making a name in the modeling industry.

The CCTV footage shows Tooba along with a man dropping off the suitcase containing Areeba’s body, at the bus station in Johar Town.
Tooba has been arrested while raids are being carried out for the other suspect(s).
