Army Chief hails role of Karachi Corps, Rangers in improving law amp; order in Sindh

KARACHI – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday lauded the role of Karachi Corps and Rangers for their significant success in improving security situation of Sindh in general and Karachi in particular.

As part of his farewell tour, COAS visited Karachi and addressed officers and soldiers of Karachi Corps and Sindh Rangers, according to IInter-Service Public Relations (ISPR).

“Life has returned to Karachi and business activity has picked up with its huge contribution to revival of national economy. Any designs of enemies of Pakistan to keep the metropolitan on the boil have been blunted and the gains cannot be allowed to reverse”, the COAS said.

“Integrated with the provincial government, our efforts to help build the capacity of civil Law enforcing institutions must continue for sustainable peace”, he added.

The COAS appreciated all ranks for maintaining vigilance along the international borders.

He especially acknowledged the delivery of social services by Army and Rangers to the residents of remote areas and desolate deserts of Sindh in disasters and crises situations.

The COAS exhorted all ranks to focus on their professional pursuits and keep our best soldiering traditions.

Earlier, on arrival he was received by the Corps Commander, Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar.
