Justice Mansoor Ali Shah Refuses To Attend Judges Committee Meeting After New Ordinance

ISLAMABAD – Supreme Court Justice Mansoor Ali Shah has written a letter to the Judges Committee explaining why he declined to join.

In his letter to the Judges Committee, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah stated that he refused to join the committee formed under the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Act Amendment Ordinance.

He mentioned that the Full Court made the decision to form the Practice and Procedure Act committee, and any amendments to the Act can only be made through a Full Court bench or a Full Court meeting.

In his letter, he further stated that he could not participate in the meeting until the previous committee was restored by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa.

Justice Mansoor Ali Shah wrote that the Practice and Procedure Ordinance was introduced hastily and requested that his letter be included in the meeting minutes.
