Terrorist networks have been dismantled: Interior Minister

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said the National Action Plan is Pakistan’s security policy and it should not be used for political purposes as no country allows politics on security issues.

Speaking at a press conference flanked by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid after cabinet meeting, he said there should be no analysis on civil-military ties.

He said that existing relations between government and the military have been exemplary for the last two years.

Giving details of the operations under the NAP, the Minister said that 68,000 arrests were made in 62,000 different actions during last nine months.

He said that terrorism was flourished after last two military operations due to incompetency of the previous government.

He said that over one hundred terrorists have been killed in anti- militancy operation so far.

The Interior Minister said that Karachi also witnessed seventy per cent improvement in law and order situation after the launch of Rangers and police operation.

He said that all terrorist networks have been dismantled and there was no terror group operating from the Pakistani soil anymore.

Refusing to unveil number of military troops, he said Pakistan Army was present in all four provinces.

Speaking on this occasion, Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid said that Pakistan was more secure today as compared to 2013.
