NEW DELHI (News Desk) – New Delhi has announced to handover as many as three Mi-25 helicopters to Kabul in near future, adding that another helicopter of same generation has been given to Afghan forces in a separate delivery this month.
The announcement comes just ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Afgahnistan, where he is due to meet Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah.
During the visit Modi will also inaugurate the new buidling of Afghan Parliament which was built with Indian support.
According to a statement in Indian media, the pledge to handover the helicopters was made during the visit of Afghan National Security Advisor Mohammad Hanif Atmar in November this year.
