Islam and terrorism two opposite concepts, says Nisar

LONDON (Web Desk) – Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said on Tuesday the world has accepted for the first time in the Washington summit that Islam has no relation to terrorism.
The minister told a press conference here that a resolution has been passed unanimously at the summit that refuses to link acts of terrorism with Islam.
Militants try to link their actions to Islam which, according to him, is incorrect. Islam and militancy are two opposite concepts, he explained.
He declared that the speech of United States President Barack Obama, in which he drew a clear line between Islam and militancy, was an achievement for the Muslims.
Nisar attended the anti-terrorism summit in the United States on February 18 which concluded with a unanimous statement to curb militancy from the earth by uniform actions.
The summit also condemned the idea of portraying war on terror as war against Islam.
The summit was attended by representatives of 60 countries.
