PCB summons Moin Khan back home over casino visit

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday summoned chief selector Moin Khan back to Pakistan to clarify his position after his controversial visit to a casino in Brisbane, Australia.

“We have called him back to Pakistan,” PCB Chairman Sheharyar Khan told a press conference. “Khan has accepted that he visited the casino, where he had dinner with his wife.”

The PCB chief also said Khan’s return would not affect the national cricket team.

Khan was accompanying the cricket team for the world cup 2015. Naveed Akram Cheema will now perform the duties of selection committee chairman and head coach Waqar Younis will assist him.

Sheharyar Khan requested the whole nation to keep supporting the team despite their worst defeats against India and West Indies.

Earlier Moin Khan tendered an apology to the nation over his visit to the casino.

Moin Khan, the chief selector Pakistan cricket team, had bet worth $15,000 over the loss of national team in the match against West Indies, media said.
The report further said that Moin also paid a heavy tip to the waiter at the casino that night.
Sources say that chief selector’s bank accounts are being monitored continuously after the news of his visit to casino surfaced.
