ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain-thunderstorm in upper Punjab parts of KP, Balochistan, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.
Seasonal lows lie over north-Balochistan and adjoining areas, while weak monsoon currents are penetrating upper parts of the country, where the temperature is likely to become moderate during next 36 to 48 hours.
Mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country during the day. However, rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds is expected at isolated places in upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha divisions), KP (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, D.I.Khan divisions), northeast Balochistan (Sibbi, Naseerabad, Kalat divisions), Islamabad, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during evening/night.
There are also chances of landslides in Malakand, Hazara divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Light rain/drizzle is also expected along the Sindh-Makran coast.
During the next 48 hours, rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds are expected at isolated places in upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha divisions), KP (Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat divisions), northeast Balochistan (Makran, Sibbi, Kalat divisions), Islamabad, FATA and Kashmir. Light rain/drizzle is also expected along the Sindh coast. Hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the country.
