Suicide car bomb blast kills at least 24 in Afghanistan s Kabul

KABUL – At least 24 people were killed and several others injured after a suicide car bomb exploded in western Kabul on Monday, local media reported quoting a Interior Ministry spokesperson.

As per reports, the suicide attacker, who was driving the car, exploded himself along with the vehicle near the residence of the deputy government Chief Executive Mohammad Mohaqiq.

Most of the people live in this area belong to Shia Hazara community, but the authorities are of the view that target of the blast is not clear yet.

After the incident, the police have cordoned off the area while the injured have been shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.

No militant group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The blast happened two weeks after the Islamic State group stormed a mosque in the capital city killing at least four people.
