ISLAMABAD – Central leader of ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Pervaiz Rasheed has clarified in blatant words that the former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar would not be given party ticket for the next general elections.
Rasheed, who has been engaged in a verbal spat with the former security czar over the Dawn Leaks fiasco, had earlier alleged that Nisar detached himself from the party leadership during the time of crisis.
“The PML-N will go to polls with its present narrative and Chaudhry Nisar, who is deadly against the party’s narrative, cannot contest the polls from the party platform,” clarified Pervaiz Rasheed.

The former information minister said his fellow Pindiite was acting against the present narrative of the ruling party adding that Nisar’s fate in the party will be decided by incumbent PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif, Dawn News reported.
“Mr Nisar would have to decide if he wanted to continue with the party or part ways,” observed Rasheed, who lost his portfolio after the inquiry committee on Dawn Leaks story forwarded its recommendations.
Since the announcement of Panama cases against the former prime minister and his family, Mr Nisar had been vocal, publicly calling on his party leadership to avoid confrontation with judiciary and establishment.
A few days back, Ch Nisar had expressed that the sharp tongue of Maryam Nawaz was steering the party into a dead end to which Rasheed had responded that former premier’s daughter pulled PML-N out of the dead end.
“Some elements were unable to digest the growing popularity of Maryam Nawaz among the masses,” Rasheed had said without naming anyone.
