NEW DELHI (Staff Report) – India has welcomed the joint statement of Pakistan and United States to boost fight against militant groups including Lashkar-e-Taiba, while rejecting the Pakistani blame that New Delhi has been sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan.
In a statement India’s Ministry of External Affairs spokesman Vikas Swarup went on to say “This the first time that Lashkar-e-Taiba and the Haqqani Network have been specifically mentioned in a US-Pakistan joint statement.”
We expect Pakistan and United States both stick to their commitments against terrorism, he added.
While commenting about United States’ meditation in resolving Kashmir dispute between Pakistan and India, Swarup said that this is a bilateral issue and no third party mediation will accepted at this.
He also rejected the Pakistani stance that India is not interested in restoration of bilateral dialogue. India has always desired resolution of all issues with Pakistan bilaterally through dialogue and peaceful means, he said.
