DHAKA (Staff Report) – At least one person has been killed while another 80 were seriously wounded in a bomb attack on a shia mosque in Bangladeshi capital as thousands gathered for the annual Ashura procession.
According to police, a 14-year-old boy died on the spot after three small bombs were thrown at the complex of the Hossaini Dalan in the old Mughal quarter of Dhaka, at about 2am Saturday.
More than 20,000 people were present in and outside the building at the time of blast.
“We’ve recovered two unexploded bombs. These are like explosive devices and almost like grenades and fitted with batteries,” police officials told newsmen.
