Wasim Akram back in Pakistan after Shiv Sena s threats

LAHORE (Staff Report) – Pakistani cricketer-turned-commentator Wasim Akram on Saturday reached Lahore following threats of Indian extreme rightist political party Shiv Sena’s threats ahead of fifth ODI match between India and South Africa.

Wife Shaniera Akram was also accompanying the former fast bowler.

Speaking with newsmen at Allama Iqbal International Airport Shaniera said that she is happy on safe return to Pakistan. She added we will spend some time with Wasim’s family taking advantage of free time.

The development follows ICC’s withdrawal of Pakistan umpire Aleem Dar from officiating in the remaining matches of the  India-South Africa series following threats from Shiv Sena.

The final ODI between India and South Africa is scheduled to be played in Mumbai on October 25.
