Marvi Memon put in charge of BISP

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday appointed MNA Marvi Memon as chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme [BISP], media reports said.

Marvi will enjoy the perks of a minister of the state while functioning at the said position.

She was elected member of the National Assembly against a reserved seat for women on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz ticket.

BISP was established by the former PPP government to pay tribute to Benazir Bhutto, the slain chairperson of the party. The program was designed to empower the poor, notably women, financially.
