Pak disabled cricket team outclasses Afghanistan in series

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Pakistan white washed Afghanistan in a T20 international disabled cricket series of three matches, here in National Cricket Stadium.

Pakistan won the last match by 17 runs despite thrashing batting Afghanistan’s Muhammad Ashraf who scored 79 runs off 58 balls only.

Left arm spinner Ameer Ahmed captured three wickets for 17 runs and Matloob Qureshi slammed an enterprising 51 in 35 balls with seven boundaries to star in their team’s triumph.

Batting first, Pakistan scored 164 for the loss of five wickets and then restricted Afghanistan to 147 for seven wickets in 20 overs.

Matloob who lost his hand in a road accident, batted superbly while Jahanzaib Tiwana blasted 44 off just 21 balls with half a dozen boundaries and one six.

Arif Richard contributed 31 runs in 39 balls with four fours and Captain Hasnain Alam scored 18 runs in 15 balls with three fours.

Off Spinner Abdullah was pick of Afghan bowling attack, grabbing three wickets for 26 runs while medium pacer Nabiullah Nabi snapped=up two wickets for 25 runs.

Afghanistan openers Muhammad Ashraf and Ubaidullah gave their flying start 85 runs. But that failed to his team from third successive defeat.

Chasing 165 for victory Afghan impaired cricketers could manage 147-6. Besides Ashraf’s half century Ubaidullah got 20.

Ameer ended with three wickets for 19 runs for Pakistan while his fellow left arm spinner Fayyaz Ahmed claimed 2-18.
