ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – While summer is approaching, electricity shortfall has reached 4700 megawatts, leading to an increased number of loadshedding hours across the country, the National Transmission and Dispatch Company reported on Wednesday.
However, Minister for Power and Water Khawaja Asif has stated that there will be less hours of loadshedding as compared to last year.
NTDC sources reveal the total demand for electricity has soared to 13700 MW against the supply of 9000 MW. As a result, rural areas are facing ten hours of power cuts while loadshedding up to 6-8 hours is being done in urban areas.
According to authorities, loadshedding duration will decrease in next few days as power generation from hydel sources improves.
