FAISALABAD (Online) – As many as 66 accused were indicted on Wednesday in the murder case of PTI worker Haq Nawaz.
Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Judge Raja Pervez Akhtar indicted 66 persons over the Novelty bridge tragedy.
Those indicted in the case included Chaudhry Pervez Jutt, right hand man of provincial law minister Rana Sana Ullah and his 6 gunmen, 9 newly elected chairman, vice chairman and 18 newly elected general councillors.
PTI worker Haq Nawaz Khan was killed during aerial firing on the procession of PTI workers at Novelty bridge on December 8, 2014 on the arrival of Imran Khan in Faisalabad.
The local leadership of PTI filed case in Lahore High Court for summoning the other nominated accused in this case including state minister Chaudhry Abid Sher Ali, Law Minister Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Rana Ahmad Shehryar, MPA Mian Tahir Jamil and Faisalabad DCO Noor ul Amin Mengal.
Earlier, the police had declared these accused persons innocent.
