Shiv Sena disrupts stage play of Pakistani artists in Gurgaon

NEW DELHI (Web Desk) – Extremist political party Shiv Sena once against targeted Pakistani artists while working in India when a group of protesters disrupted a play being performed in Gurgaon by Pakistani artists.

According to Indian media the Shiv Sena workers also vandalised a Pakistani flag in Saturday night’s incident.

A group of people stormed the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) open air theatre where the play was being staged, threw the Pakistani flag on the ground and shouted anti-Pakistan slogans.

MCG officials said the play was disturbed for some but situation was brought under control by members of the audience and the local policemen authorities.

The Pakistani artists however completed their performance following the disturbance.

Shiv Sena’s recent violent protests against Pakistani artists seems to have jeopardised the promotions of two films – ‘Raees’ directed by Rahul Dholakia starring Bollywood heartthrob Shah Rukh Khan and filmmaker Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Senior Shiv Sena leaders vow not to let the Pakistani actors in the film – Mahira Khan (Raees) and Fawad Khan – promote the film in Maharashtra of which Mumbai is the capital city.
