LAHORE (Staff Report) – Opener Muhammad Hafeez Saturday said he strongly believes that corrupt players must not be allowed to return and that his principled stance is not against a specific individual.
Talking to newsmen after a meeting with Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shaharyar Khan, Hafeez said that he has forgiven all those corrupt cricketers who earned a bad name for Pakistan and damaged his country’s image.
But I still stand by my opinion that such people must not return and I will keep sticking to it my whole life, he added.
He further said that people in media have been misinterpreting my principled stance against inclusion of corrupt cricketers into Pakistani team.
On the occasion he also said that he considers himself a mediocre cricketer but his ambition to represent Pakistan with grace is very high. I will continue representing Pakistan to the best of my expertise, he added.
