Turkish Airlines makes emergency landing in Russia

MOSCOW (Web Desk) – Turkish Airlines with more than 150 passengers has made an emergency landing in Russian city of Irkutsk.

According to details Boeing 737-900 made an emergency landing that was en route from Bishkek, the capital city of Kyrgyzstan to Mongolian capital, International Business Times reported.

It is still unclear what necessitated the emergency landing. It is reported the plane refueled in the Russian city and none of the passengers left the aircraft.

Anxiety between Turkey and Russia have been elevated since Ankara’s fighter jets shot down a Russian bomber for allegedly violating its protective airspace near the Syrian border.
