NAB launches inquiry against Pakistan Science Foundation chairman

ISLAMABAD – The Rawalpindi branch of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday initiated an inquiry against former chairman of Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF), Dr Manzoor Hussain Soomro, and officials of Ministry of Science and Technology and others.

The appointment of Dr Manzoor Hussain as PSF chairman (BPS-22), Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information DG (BPS-21) and as Economic Coordination Organisation (ECO) president of the science foundation, is in question. Hussain has also allegedly made illegal appointments and promotions while misusing his authority.

In another case, the Rawalpindi bureau of the anti-corruption watchdog has initiated an inquiry against the officers and officials of CDA and others on the allegation of illegal lease and sale of costly CDA commercial plot in Melody, Islamabad.

NAB-Rawalpindi DG Irfan Naeem Mangi said that in light of the directions of Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal, all-out efforts were being made to recover the looted money from swindlers and corrupt individuals.
