DONGGUAN — Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo has unveiled its Apex 2019 concept buttonless and all-display fingerprint scanning smartphone.
The new concept smartphone uses a combination of capacitive touch and pressure-sensing rather than the standard power and volume buttons on the sides.
Vivo Apex 2019 features a 6.39-inch AMOLED display and also works as the speaker by using a piezoelectric transducer to emit sound. The smartphone has a very thin bezel along the screen and with no sight of a selfie camera.
Moreover, Apex 2019 is the Full-Display Fingerprint Scanning smartphone and users can touch almost anywhere on the screen to unlock via the in-display fingerprint scanner – this would make it the most-advanced in-display fingerprint scanner device.
The dual camera on the rear is a 12MP + 13MP with an LED flash.
The Dongguan-based tech company has not provided any information about the selfie camera.
The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 855 chipset, has 256GB or 512GB of storage, 12GB of RAM.
Since this is a concept phone and Vivo might not release it to the market in this exact configuration.
Last year Vivo showed off the impressive Apex concept and later on released the NEX that used a bunch of its technologies.
Vivo will show off the Apex 2019 concept phone at the Mobile World Congress in February.
