NEW YORK (Staff Report) – Prime Minister’s special adviser on foreign affairs and national security Sartaj Aziz on Saturday met Saudi Arabian foreign minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir on the sidelines of United Nations General Assembly session in New York.
Both leaders  agreed to take the relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to new heights, particularly in the field of defense cooperation, trade and law enforcement.
They reviewed the existing multi-directional cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. They also exchanged views on regional and global situation, with particular focus on Yemen and Afghanistan.
Aziz assured the Saudi foreign minister to continue supporting the kingdom in countering the threats posed by terrorists and extremists.
The adviser also urged Al-Jubeir to pressurize India to return to table talks with Pakistan and respect ceasefire along Line of Control (LoC).
Sartaj Aziz briefed his Saudi counterpart on India-Pakistan relations and worsening situation on the Line of Control and Working Boundary.
