ISLAMABAD – US Acting Assistant Secretary of State Alice Wells will arrive Pakistan on an emergency tour on tomorrow (Monday).
According to media reports, in reference to US President Donald Trump’s statement about Pakistan, she will take Pakistan military and civil leadership into confidence pertaining to US policy and the present situation in the South Asia.
This is her second visit to Pakistan within two weeks. US State Department has portrayed her visit as a very important one for US-Pakistan relations.
Her visit to Islamabad will be the American diplomat’s second this month which follows President Donald Trump’s announcement of new Afghan policy with deployment of thousands more troops in the war-torn country and pillorying Pakistan for offering safe haven to militants.
