ISLAMABAD – Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, the 28th Prime Minister of Pakistan, turned 59 today on Tuesday.
He celebrated his birthday with simplicity as he remained in the field for the inauguration of public interest project, Burhan-Shah Maqsood section of Hazara Motorway.
Abbasi distinguishes himself from his predecessors as he is the first prime minister to fly a military helicopter by taking a Turkish attack helicopter for a test flight in the city of Istanbul.

He also the first prime minister of the country to board a submarine in the open sea. The PM boarded PNS Saad, an Air-independent and long-range Khalid-class submarine, along with Naval Chief Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi at Jinnah Naval Base in Karachi.
Born on 27 December 1958, Abbasi started his political career after the death of his father in 1988, and since then he has been elected a Member of the National Assembly six times.
He took oath as Prime Minister of Pakistan in August after the Supreme Court disqualified Nawaz Sharif in Panamagate case.
