LAHORE (Web Desk) – The election tribunal on Friday resumed hearing of the NA-122 case, seeking final arguments from counsels of Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan regarding verification of NA-122 voters’ thumb impression through NADRA.
The counsel of PTI chief had earlier requested the tribunal for verification of thumb impression of voters since he asserted that the local commission held inspection and found several discrepancies in the record.
He argued that scrutiny of the record showed that alleged rigging was pre-planned and not a result of negligence of polling staff.
Ayaz Sadiq’s counsel, however, had objected to the application of Imran Khan saying that he was employing delaying tactics.
The tribunal adjourned the case, saying decision regarding Khan’s plea will be given on March 4.
