ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has convened a meeting of the parliamentary leaders in Islamabad today (Friday) for exchange of views on making the Senate elections transparent.
As per reports, the PM and lawmakers will exchange views over making March 5 elections of the Parliament’s upper house more crystal clear.
Yesterday, a delegation of PML-N led by Minister for Finance, Ishaq Dar held negotiations with opposition Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and later claimed that both the parties “are on same page” on eliminating horse-trading culture from the country’s politics.
Speaking on the occasion, Jehangir Tareen said that his party would support every effort of the government for transparent elections in the country.
Pakistan Peoples Party and MQM had also vowed to cooperate with the ruling party in legislation that proposes voting through show of hands.
