ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Federal Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has said that successes achieved in the war on terror have earned us an improved image of Pakistan abroad.
In an interview, he said the world has acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
To a question, the Minister said Pakistan wants easing of tension between Saudi Arabia and Iran, and the initiative taken by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has been lauded at international level.
He, however, said Pakistan will stand by Saudi Arabia in any threat to its territory or sovereignty.
To another question, Khawaja Asif said both Pakistan and India are trying to build trust, but it will take time.
